Mr. Thompson is a Licensed Professional Engineer with over 43 years’ experience in structural engineering, civil engineering, residential and commercial land development, heavy highway/road construction, horizontal and vertical concrete construction, and construction management and facilities operations. As a Consulting Surety Engineer for over 18 years, Mr. Thompson has assisted sureties with claim analysis, Affirmative Claim development of Lost Productivity and Cumulative Impact Claims, construction completion bid solicitation and project takeovers. Mr. Thompson is knowledgeable with the benefits, challenges, and feasibility of the Critical Path Method (CPM) and Linear Scheduling Method (LSM) claim analysis and development. Mr. Thompson’s vast knowledge in the review of several CSI Master format sections qualify him for Claim Consulting and Litigation Support.
After his US Army service, he began a varied commercial engineering career by analyzing and designing seismic structural support systems for HVAC duct work, process piping and electrical conduits.
He subsequently worked as a consulting civil engineer offering design services to the real estate development industry. These services included surface water hydrology, hydraulics, transportation and road design, water supply, and wastewater disposal.
Moving ‘off the design table,’ Mr. Thompson worked as a real estate developer and general contractor. His work included concept development, finance analysis, cost estimating, bid preparation, construction scheduling, sub-contract & vendor solicitation, and project management. Mr. Thompson’s role as a General Contracting company’s Financial Controller provides him exceptional financial insight.
