Background
Ms. Sottile has been involved in a wide range of planning, environmental and community development activities. Her work includes research and analyses, organization of data and preparation of reports to guide local officials regarding community development and land use planning. Additionally, Ms. Sottile serves as an informational resource to town boards, local officials, developers and the general public.
Professional Experience
Review of application materials and performance of surveys of properties currently under site plan review. Visit to sites to inspect for compliance to specifications and regulations of the zoning code and/or accordance with State Environmental Quality Review Act ("SEQRA")
Review of various development applications including the preparation of required documentation pursuant to SEQRA, "Determinations of Significance" and "Findings Statements"
Research of planning issues, evaluation of alternatives, preparation of recommendations and presentation of comprehensive reports
Analysis and interpretation of technical reports, topographic maps, aerial photography, engineering/construction drawings and other technical data
Researched and preparation of preliminary draft ordinances for the establishment of the Departments of Public Safety and Economic Development
Surveys to gather demographic information; organize and prepare information and statistical data and; aid with the work involved in developing local planning projects
Interact with the public by providing planning information through correspondence utilizing research and synthesized literature from libraries, internet, in-house data and other sources to prepare drafts of reports concerning all aspects of planning
Assist in the preparation of long-range plans, land use and zoning code amendments; and special studies and reports
Administrative support to Director of Environmental Affairs and Town Planner
Created and updated data bases for 1,500+ application/permit files
Published biannual Town newsletter
Developed and published first Land Use Guide booklet and maintained and updated The Walker's Guide to Wilton
